About Us

I'm 23 years young.
A bookkeeper, diaper changer, and boo-boo kisser by day; TV junkie and sleep addict by night.
I;m a student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and I'll be graduating in the spring of 2015 with a Bachelor's in Accounting.

He's 25 years old.
A supervisor at his family's restaurant, The Cookie Jar and a serious hunk.
He loves everything basketball and football, and looks forward to moose hunting in September all year long.
We started dating in June 2008--I was a senior in high school and he was just starting back to work at the restaurant after spending a semester in Florida.  He sent me a message on MySpace, and took me on our first date to see The Love Guru.  Romantic, huh? :)
We fell hard and fast in love, and had the most fun year learning about each other, becoming completely inseparable.
He proposed in July 2009 on the steps of my garage, the same place he told me he loved me for the first time.
On June 12, 2010, I became Mrs. Burcell.  Our wedding day was so perfectly us.  A beautiful ceremony, full of God and so many of our family members and friends.  A reception with just the right balance of romance, laughs, and awkwardness. And a late night dinner of pizza and cheesecake while we read our cards and grinned ear to ear at each other, so happy to have made it to that point and so excited for what was to come.

Little did we know that four short months later, we would find out we were expecting!
Our daughter, Nora Lee was born June 28, 2011.  She is the perfect package of sweetness and spunk.  She has no interest in sitting still, unless she's watching Veggie Tales.  She loves exploring and playing with anything and everything, from her Disney princess castle to her tool box.  I'm her "best mommy friend" and Taylor is her knight in shining armor.  She brings so much joy and so many laughs to our lives.
Our latest addition, Oliver William, was born January 18, 2014.  He kept everyone waiting and showed up nine days late, but man, has be been worth it.  We haven't had much time with this little one yet, but he fits into our family so well and makes us smile everyday with his newborn coos, serious faces, and occasional half-smiles.
We are first and foremost children of God, and we're thankful everyday for all of the blessings He's given us.  We are not perfect, but have a perfect Savior in Jesus.  We stumble daily, but are comforted and renewed by the knowledge that we are forgiven.

I hope you enjoy reading these little peeks into our lives.  Thanks for reading The Young Burcells--stay a little while. :)
